Tortugas Natural Earth Wheat Readers

The sustainable frame is paired with light tan temples made from composite wheat grasses. Wheat grass composite is an all-natural plastic is biodegradable, renewable, durable, and BPA-free. It's made from the straw byproducts from regular wheat harvests. And because every little bit helps, 1% of all profits made from these readers will go to support our National Parks and their personnel.

When our Natural Earth readers reach the end of their lifecycle, the elements can be separated into separate recycling. We recommend placing the PET1 plastic water bottle frames into bottle recycling. The acrylic lenses can be popped out and placed into plastic recycling. You can write "acrylic" on the lens with marker so they can be sorted appropriately. The metal hinges and screws can be placed into metal recycling. The composite and bamboo materials are biodegradable and can be composted. Industrial composting is the fastest way to break down wheat and tree bark composite, and backyard composting may take up to half a year to break down plant-based materials.
